So after a mellow weekend of gaming and gaming, the Wang return with the vigor of a thousand Hindu cattle. The blogsphere is clogged with the big event of the weekend, the Oscars. So I’ll do my part to harp-y all the hott people and promote the motion to change the name of the award from Oscar to "Wang"(tm).
The List of results, incase u dont alrdy know. Atleast the movies i like got Oscars... in stuff like sound editing, cinematography, writing, and Best Animation.
Here is a transcript of the Politcal Commentary by Chris Rock from Tnoy Pierce's blog.
Now on with the harpying.
(or u can read the nice Fugly Girl version done from MSN pcitures here where they refer to Hallary Swanks dress as a sartorial Mallet, a party in the back, and all business in the front.)

An early post today, due to it being fresh on the mind. So last night i finally caught up with Lost, which i've missed for the last 3 weeks. And I all can say is, JJ Abraham can set a scene. Also he's very good at the "flirting" state. Having character get so close together in a "we grew up as neighbors" kinda of way, and then do the usual TV style cock block and finish it off some time 3 season down in a freaky time travel sequence.

Another item of note is definetly is Yoon-jin Kim of the Shiri fame. She was uber hot in this last weeks episode, "...In Translation." Specially since they finally let her remove her Asian shackle business clothing, to reveal a stunning swimmming suit, and some sort of symbolic removal of her ties to her past...(but who pays attention to that stuff?) And as I said to my roomate at the beginning of the show, "The Wang demmands more Bathing montages!"
Though we can tell that JJAbraham has definetly been watching Closer as he slipped in a Damien Rice song at the end called, "Delicate." Damien gettting much fame after his "Blower's Daughter" became the poster song for Closer. Though i do respect JJ Abraham for his pop song/montage scenes at the end of a show, some of the best stuff of Felicity.
So on to Act III...

Before I go today… think on this:

So mostly a slow blogging 4 day weekend due to some car problem, the Wang has returned from “low" blogging mode to the current level Beige Blogging status. Over the weekend one of the big news is that Hunter S. Thompson took his own life. As much as the Wang refuse to read any printed material, his work has always interested me after seeing Fear and Loathing. Specially after reading this discussion between wicked thought and his friend, I need to read Fear and Loathing…
But beyond that, this weekend has been filled with events, including a pseudo bachelor party for the Porn King, in which we geeked out and played Halo. I promised him a real party one day, as Mr.Starfizzy and I plan for the use of a “special" cake. Though Mr. Pirate (current nick name, still being experimented) have suggested a geek-up wedding in Vegas. I did offer a freak trip to Vegas on our Halo night, but the Porn King refused. So much for getting him wasted and hiring an old man and a guy in a donkey outfit to wake up next to him…
But the real fun stuff happened Tuesday night, when Mr. StarFizzy invited me to see Mission of Burma, an old school “post-punk" band, which, I admit, had me bopping like some sort of punk-zombie. Which was neat effect. I did for the first time finally went in the Troubadour, which was not what I imagined due to our use of the locale in many V:tm and Cyberpunk games. Still the wood décor and the second floor bleachers worked for me. Mission of Burma was fun, there was a level of energy, and u can really feel it from the crowd. Even the older, (late 30s) dudes were nostalgically head banging to some drugged induced college memories. Most noticeably were 30s ear old blonde girls doing the punk hop. And yes, modern day punk-trendy hoodies abundant which… is ironic. But active blonde girl moved away from us, and according to Mr. StarFizzy, her cohorts’ hands never left her ass. Which I agree, would have been my resting place of choice for hands.
Dinner was also great, we went to Cobras & Matadors which serves the currently food trend, “tapas." The whole “small plate" concept has taken Hollywood. And now the whole family/dim sum eating style I have been growing up with is the “thing." Though I did find my self in odd moments where I was searching for a chopstick, +5 vs. Small Plates. The thing about Hollywood area is parking, there’s never enough. So we parked a bit off for the restaurant, and had to walk through the rain to get back. Though I personally think a wet Wang is better than a dry Wang, so I like the rain.
That is until after dropping off Mr. Starfizzy. On my way home on the 210 East, right around Highway 2, did Wang mobile decided to go into a flat spin, and pulling a nice 180 counter clockwise, which brought me to about a few feet to the medium. Thank to my own driving in the rain advice, I was driving in the center lane, which lucky saved me from side ramming the medium. Then I pulled a clockwise 190 and ended up about +20 degress from where I started. I turned the engine off, since all the lights were flashing funny, I think the car detects these spins. And checked for incoming traffic, and turned on my emergency blinkers. Pulled off the road and checked out the car. All I can say is, thankyou modern day car safety features, cause the first thing I noticed is that the wheels were steaming. I assume that was from the anti-lock breaks going into full charge to give me some spin control. Obvs I was not pumping my breaks like Driver’s ed. Taught, but u shouldn’t do that anyways in Anti-lock breaks. Still I think I must of recall some turning technique, cause the Wang ended up with only +20 degree off and not hitting anything. I do think its mostly the Anti-Lock breaks that saved me from more body shop trips. Still all in all, the event has decreased my liking for the rain. The Irony was that I was promoting the I210 ability to vent water just an hour before the incident to Mr. Starizzy. Still, I recommend good brakes, and drive safetly in the Rain. Cause nature is a bitch that wont make u sammiches.

One of my favorite Anime is finally on DVD. Releasing, today. Nausicaa, Valley of the Wind by Miyzaki, GOD of Anime. So be sure to give this a look, cause this is one of the few rare DVD i WILL buy.
Unfortunately it is brought to us by Disney, so let's hope they dont mess with it too much. But the Miyzaki releases of the past from Disney has been very good, so i'm keeping my finger crossed.

So why did I quit the game in March 2002? Jane, I think, explained it best: “When EverQuest was more fun than your life, you played EverQuest; when your life became more fun than EverQuest, you quit the game."
I wonder if this is true?

Since my recent journey into the world of less-pop music, I have came across the great show know as Morning becomes Eclectic. It’s a pretty great show that have great live performances from everyone from Moby to Tift Merritt. Though I do find myself most of show due to my… *cough* work schedule. Its nice that their webpage keeps a lot of streamed shows, and even streamed videos of their live performances. And they have a great sound studio. If u r bored and have the bandwidth, stream some of the shows in the background if u have nothing to listen to.
And I recommend the Arcade Fire show, I know I know they r the “it" indie band, but really they r pretty good. Plus in this performance, they toned down from their punk-esque hyper ways, to a more mellow, violin accompanying Arcade fire that we rarely hear.

After being here for 6 almost 7 years, I slowly begin to see that LA does indeed have cultural side. Having never experienced much of it, I’m only slowly to see the faces of art hidden between the exits of the highway off ramps. LA is very divided, by cities, freeways, and even by the small mountain ranges. Recently my blog lists have included a lot of local blogs suchs as LAist, Blogging.la, LAblogs, the skunks of los feliz, and LA voice. Which has shown me a side of LA that’s rarely seen. I do have a long daily commute, but many times it shocks me to find out how much of the city that I DON’T get to see between the point where I get on the I10 and get off the I405. The skunk page linked me to this beautiful architecture of LA site. Between this and reading the Time’s food section, I’m beginning to think that LA is actually a decent city.

the only thing more dramatic than rain in LA is a car chase... or even better a car chase IN the rain. but today all we get is the normal rain and traffic.
Well the Wang wants to keep all his friends safe, so here are some general advices for driving in the rain:
1. Stay home.
2. If u have to, drive in the middle lane. Puddles of water gather on the side of the road and they can cause drag to one side of ur car which leads to hyrdoplaning.
3. Remeber u need longer distance to break. So dont tailgate.
4. Everyone in LA dont know how to drive in the rain, be extremely defensive.
5. Dont mo:blog and drive.
6. Stay home.
Be Safe!
