Time magazine clearly gone of the wall, when they named "You" as the Man of the yr for 2006. Or have they? Time's position is that this yr, the internet has took of to such a level that content is deliver by none other then its users, you. SO here we r sitting infront of the computer reading a blog written by me, another user. Not an advance concept, but imagine how that blogs and forums r the back bones of the internet right now. Who knows, the Wang is not sure if this a interesting move or not, but I can clearly say that most of the stuff that I read, online, are written by other users, and rarly by actual content providers. Memes and viral marketing dominate the net now. Just look @ this little flash game Line Rider. First created on DeviantArt as some sort of art demo. Now there's an entire community of ppl creating interesting youtube clips of their results. Check out this one, done to 3d extreme. Perhaps, the web is finally becoming blob of conscience and knowledge; not all useful, but clearly time consuming. Son congradulation to you/us all, the content providers of thefuture of the internet, for winning, "men of the Year. now we just need one of those Mirrors with the time of the year thing on it...

What better the way top end an awesome yr of the colbert report than
The Decemberists Vs. Stephen Colbert: Countdown To Guitarmageddon

Pimp my nutcracker...

Thankyou indie rock music, u have brought back the 60s and the 70s. Now the Wang has to grow his hair out, so he can attract androgynous elf-looking girls, like this Silversun Pickup's "Lazy Eye" video implies... But that can only distract me briefly from the coolness that is Silversun pickups.

This is brought to our attention via, Uncle Grambo's 2k7 Grahammys best singles. There r some other of the Wang's faves like regina Spektor's Fidelityand Yeah Yeah Yeah's Cheated Hearts.

Speaking of lists, here is:
Pitchfork's Guest list, best of 06
Popmatter's best of Indie 06

and remember, keep both hands on the keyboard for this Natalie & Scarlett hawtness.

The tale of why NBC owns HornyManatee.com. Also check out the actual website for all the Conan O'Brian videos and the pictures of the Manateen, anime manateen and the schoolgirl manatee. I mean, James Lipton reading an ode to a manatee... thats classic TV.

Boing Boing's gigantic Xmas link dump. Some fun stuff, the Wang recommends: the Roombas christmas carols and the evil christmas tunes.

Singers are much cooler when they make fun of themselves. here's Justin Timberlake, @ SNL doing "Dick-in-a-box" the best xmas gift ever:

Bunnies cant stand xmas, but they r great ornaments...

This has been a good year... mostly for the travels, the experiences, and the music. I think this yr, the wang got really enjoy some of the finer musical e3xperiences. Some great stuff like, Coachella, Bridge school, to just hearing random classics via the internet, seeing U2 in HD, finding out that the Wang likes Post Rock. Overall it was a good year of music. The Wang is not out to put top album of the year, like real bloggers, but definetly, there would be a few albums that the Wang truly enjoyed this yr.

But beyond that, U2 is god. Incase u didnt know that alrdy. here's another messiah-like coming of their cool ass videos. This video is for Windows in the Skies from U218, a best-of album with 2 new tracks. THis video, U2 edits together all sort of musical greats, cameo/singing lines for the video. And in the end, U2 is watching them... great stuff. Almost up there with the other great video i discovered this yr, Jonny Cash's hurt.

Though U2 is awesome when it comes to set a blaze the simple concept that music is out life blood. It links us all and through simple cords and emotions. And if talking aint going to get thier message accross, U2 is going to sing peace into our little planet till the end of their career.

So on that note, the Wang'll echo U2's message of peace on earth, and a happy new year.

Merry Xmas & Thankyous:
Datawhat?!, Achtung baby, Uncle Grambo, Waxy Links, BoingBoing
