RIAA Boycott
Rabbit Rabbit!

The Beginning of March is the beginnings of the RIAA boycott lead by online blogs like Gizmodo. This is suppose to be a demonstration to the strong-arm tactics of the companies under the RIAA that consumers like you and I will not, for the month of march purchase anything under their businesses. Here’s the official Gizmodo Manifesto.
Though the Wang is not encouraging u gentle readers to be out there P2P songs illegally, merely to focus ur attentions on legal sources of perhaps none- major label music. You should try looking for more indie acts, or local acts, acts that are produced by musicians them selves, sold form the back of their cars. Stuff like that. Now eMusic is a great place for none major label content, plus they have a pretty interesting monthly fee model.
The Wang also isn’t encouraging the general hatred of ur favorite artists. So if u have the time, go see them live. Visit a few venues and enjoy a live show or too. I think the RIAA makes little to no money on those things.
Incase u need to check to see if something u r buying is under the RIAA label, here’s a nice little tool for u to check, RIAA Radar, a nice little site that tells u if the albums u r about to buy is “safe" from the RIAA or not.
Remember these r the people who brought us the college student law suits, the DRMs, the laws that prevent technologies like MP3 players. So be strong, pretend like its techno-geek lent and give up a few things. Like buying from iTunes. But then again, knowing most of u, this will just be a big limewire month.
