SO yes, once again the Wang mobile was involved in another crime. A few month back, the Wang mobile got broken into and an unknown person, whom was nice enough to leave a box of cigarettes on my floor, removed few of our loving electronic gadgets. Amongst the missing items were my beloved D70, a 4g iPod, Best Buy gift certificates, and the seldom played DS, or as the Wang calls it, the Nintendog machine.
But that's actually old news. It was like months ago. The Wang alrdy got his insured new camera alrdy.
So once again, the Wang was traveling in the search of great treasures and booty in the land of Berkeley of the kingdom of California. The Wang mobile was placed on a street that was semi shady on the GTA4 scale. But the Wang figures that, "God's in his heaven. All's right with the world." After some roughing around with the lovely hosts of the evening's entertainment, the party clearly heard the sound of continuous popping. Now the Wang was educated once that if random popping sounds happen in the neighborhood, one should just assume its car back fire. But if it is continuous and without rhythm, it is probably gunfire. So the Wang hosts and the Wang agreed that it wasn't the normal strand of Chinese firecrackers either and decided to call the sheriffs of Berkeley. The sheriff were a cheery lot and responded with some typical 'boxed' questions about, "If we seen anything, beside the sound," or "Heard anything AFTER the gunfire." Eventually they responded to us by saying, they've alrdy gotten calls and they will checkout the area in haste. I guess that eased our worries and we continued in our merry ways of pillaging fantastical lands with our paper people.
It wasn't till the evening came to an end and the Wang returned to his faithful steam wagon, did he notice the shattered windows. From there, the Wang went through the regular procedures and called the sheriffs back for an report. In which that's when the audience learns about how the earlier shooting was, in fact a real shooting, in which, no one was hurt. But they documented the fact that the Wang mobile was in fact, damaged. The bullet went in at an angle and hit the back of the passenger front seat. Also made a mess on the back seat with layers of powdered glass. The Wang was informed that if he discovered the bullet, it might be good to bring it back to the Police department, but all the Wang can find is some sort of deformed metal. One would assume that bullets do deform a lot, but all that the Wang found was a scrap of bent metal, perhaps it is a bullet, or maybe just some random robot dandruff.
The Wang is sure that he'll probably get another one of those recorded voice messages from his insurance company about watching where to park. Sometimes, just sometimes, the Wang really misses the safety and comforts of LA's south central. At least u know after an heated crime scene incident, u can drive over and get some good Roscoe's chicken and waffle to ease the trouble soul.

There's something meta about driving home from SF after a weekend and hearing the Decemberists "O Valencia" while passing through Valencia. Clearly the song isnt about the city, north of LA, but still the name stuck and the weirdness sets in. Above is the video, which the Wang have mentioned before, mainly due to the coolness of the clip.
There's always something great about long distance trips where one can let their iPod's playlists go crazy. I have learned that even an LA<->SF trip only goes through about little under 100 songs in the iPod. This really doesnt make a dent on the 4k+ songs i have in my right now. Sometimes i have song in there that i never even heard of. But the Wang do enjoy sometime along in the desert, in the car, it is truly the best time to think about everything.
On that note it is with a sad heart that the Wang may decide to leave LA for NoCal permanently in the coming month... but its still up in the air right now. Great opportunities lie north, so the Wang may finally fulfill his dreams of permanently becoming a SF-ian. But in his heart of hearts, LAist is truly a much better website than SFist. So a part of the Wang will be forever left here in the city of Angels... mostly in Pasadena, across the street from McMurphy's in Old Town... DAMN U VODKA!
Still friends and comfort zones made the Wang's last departure rather hard, perhaps this time, for good, will be even harder. Still let us enjoy the meta-ness of the musical moment during a car ride, cause that what life is really about sometimes, being lost in the moment and not thinking too much.
Remember that game u used to play as a child in high school, where u had to kill ur target and take their target? Well u don’t actually “kill” them but it usually involves some form of tagging or shooting them with a water gun? Well the Wang had a game like that in High school called killer. Where we assigned all the targets in the game to some body, in secret, then set them out in to the school yard. U don’t really know who’s after u, only the one target u have. U also don’t know who’s all playing.
So now, apparently the bored kids of our generation out there have decided to make this into an adult game called Streetwars. Seems like the event has been popular in NYC and other cities for awhile. And now its coming to LA, for 2 weeks at the end of March.
So who knows the Wang might show up at ur door and hose u with my new and improve Wang canon. Cause the Wang can afford much better water guns than the days of high school…

The pride of joy of LA, Six Flag is adding a new ride to their lineup of awesome roller coasters. The all new Tatsu will be added in the Spring 06. It seems like a belly style ride where u feel like ur flying similar to the Stealth in Great Amercia. Here’s a Six Flag main page link with, now, a animation of the ride. Or a virtual tour here. overall it looks prett neat, but then anything new at six flags is a cool thing. The only thing the Wang could ask for is a travel/train system that cuts accross the park, instead of making u walk all the way around.
Alright don’t forget to get ur annual passes, cause the Wang is going to be camping out at the lines in Six Flag, and the Wang doesn’t want to be alone… Oh and they have turkey legs... eveyone loves turkey legs right? YOU MUST GO!

So today is the International Talk like Pirate Day. Its a global event because, u know i hear dit on the radio and read it from boingboing. This is specially close to the Wang's heart due to recent fame of the Chinese Pirate to be featured in Pirate 3. Again, the Wang is still in his eternal search on the Pirate Lingo in Chinese... i assume "arrrg" is just "arrrg" in chinese.
Also not being a fan of the Emmies, but the wang do appreciate hawt-ness of the "lost" girls. Congrads to Lost and hope that u carry this quality for seasons to come... Cause the Wang does not want to be disappointed.
So go forth and say "Arrrg" too all ur friends and make another interweb meme the way of life.

One of my favorite Anime is finally on DVD. Releasing, today. Nausicaa, Valley of the Wind by Miyzaki, GOD of Anime. So be sure to give this a look, cause this is one of the few rare DVD i WILL buy.
Unfortunately it is brought to us by Disney, so let's hope they dont mess with it too much. But the Miyzaki releases of the past from Disney has been very good, so i'm keeping my finger crossed.
